When discussing this case, the advisors agreed that a combination of a ceramide-containing baby wash and salicylic acid-containing moisturizer cream cleared the neonatal acne after 2 weeks. Whether the prescription topicals' residual effects were responsible for clearing acne is unclear; nevertheless, the advisors agreed that the baby's skin condition had much improved. Parents prefer not to use topical steroids and are willing to accept alternatives they perceive as safer for long-term use. However, the salicylic acid-containing moisturizer cream may cause an allergic reaction or skin irritation.19 Therefore, when starting treatment with this cream, a minimal amount of the cream should be applied as a "test dose" to 1 or 2 small skin
