Fractional CO2 Laser Treatment vs Autologous Fat Transfer in the Treatment of Acne Scars: A Comparative Study

using fractional CO2 laser with biopsies are needed to detect a clearer protocol of treatment to settle the controversy over the parameters used in various studies regarding side effects and the clinical improvement. A combination treatment can be used to achieve better results, especially as the laser treatment is less effective than fat grafting. Further studies using biopsies are needed to explain the histological changes and thus further clarify the role of fat grafting in such conditions. This will lead to a development of a treatment protocol for fat transfer in acne scars. A larger sample is also recommended in future studies to achieve statistical correlation that can benefit the evolution of such technique. For the best results and the fewest complications, a well-trained specialist in fat grafting in a proper setting is recommended.
