Patients with cicatricial alopecia report delayed treatment due to step therapy and other utilization management practices. Most patients are concerned that they are not receiving the right medical therapies due to insurance policies. Our findings align with prior literature reporting step therapy and other utilization management policies are a common barrier to optimal treatment.5
