University of Colorado, Department of Dermatology, Denver, CO

The Department of Dermatology at UCD has 35 faculty members including 3 MD, PhDs and 17 PhD scientists. Our goal is to provide world-class clinical care in an environment where discovery informs clinical practice and education. We aim for a research standard equal to that in the best basic science departments. The spectacular facilities on the AMC and the skill of the collaborative faculty have been combined to create a unique and truly impressive environment for clinical care, education and research.

Residency Program

We have a highly effective education program that serves medical students, residents and research trainees in many departments in multiple schools on the AMC. Our Dermatology Residency program accepts up to 6 residents per year through the match. For residents interested in research training in the context of their Dermatology Residency, we offer a 2+2 program with 2 years of traditional residency, followed by 2 years of research training supported by our NIH training grant, now in its 32th year. For those interested in training beyond their residency, we offer fellowships in Pediatric Dermatology, Procedural Dermatology, Dermatopathology, and Dermatology Research.
We offer the following:
  • State-of-the-art clinical and research facility (Anschutz Medical Campus).
  • Comprehensive clinical training in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the skin and mucous membranes
  • Large patient population to include routine skin disorders, geriatric and pediatric disorders, and complex referral cases (the University of Colorado is the largest medical referral facility in the Rocky Mountain region)
