Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) can affect every organ of the body in an array of various ways, and the skin is no exception.
Moreover, dermatologic complaints are extremely common in the HIV-positive patient population and tend to have a
tremendous impact on quality of life, rendering the study and familiarity with these conditions very helpful. We provide a list
of HIV-associated dermatoses as a useful reference; with special attention paid to how presentation and treatment differ from in
immunocompetent individuals.
