As the JDD approaches our twelfth volume, I want to recognize the hard work of our outgoing co-editor-in-chief these past four years, Dr. James Spencer. Since I started with the JDD, we have rotated editors every few years. This has given us the opportunity to bring new ideas into the Journal. The JDD would not have achieved its current status without the invaluable contribution of our past co-editors-in-chief. During Dr. Spencer's tenure, the JDD achieved high standards and increased both the number of submissions and the quality of the manuscripts. The JDD is currently among the most successful dermatology journals. The readership together with the whole dermatology community owes a debt of gratitude to Dr. Spencer for his role in this outstanding achievement.
I would like to announce with great pride, the appointment of Deborah S. Sarnoff MD as my co-editor-in-chief for the Journal. We first met when she was a Mohs surgery fellow at New York University. As a rising star in the department, Deborah‘s talents complemented her distinguished academic abilities. Her ideas and passion are poised for excellence in the growing field of dermatology and we look forward to the implementation of her charismatic energy that will galvanize our field. Her instincts and selfless dedication will empower our journal and help unify our field. Dr. Sarnoff’s dedication to her studies and her drive are a compelling force that will inspire colleagues, mentors, and future students to re-define standards in Journal excellence.
