Erythrodermic psoriasis is a severe condition with life-threatening complications, including infection and cardiovascular issues. In the JDD article titled “Recalcitrant Erythrodermic Psoriasis Complicated by Septic Shock and Mycotic Aneurysm: A Call for Treatment Guidelines,” we discuss a critical case of a 68-year-old patient whose erythrodermic psoriasis, unresponsive to multiple therapies, led to septic shock, infective endocarditis, and a mycotic aneurysm. This case underscores the dire consequences of widespread epidermal dysfunction and the alarming gap in evidence-based treatment guidelines for managing psoriatic erythroderma. With high mortality risks, this article calls on the dermatology community to prioritize the development of standardized treatment protocols to improve patient outcomes.
