Protect Ya Neck: Ensuring Accessible Education and Care for Patients with Acne Keloidalis Nuchae

Dr. Nanette Silverberg & Adam Friedman, MD, FAAD

There are a number of dermatologic conditions that in part result from our daily behaviors – for some reason our skin did not get the memo that we should be able to have our cake and eat it too. Acne keloidalis nuchae, aka AKN, is one such example that results from nature and nurture, though nurturing with electric clippers is not the TLC for which this condition searches. Avoidance of disease drivers is crucial, and therefore easy to digest patient centric resources can play a pivotal role in improving patient outcomes. Wouldn’t that be nice? Join JDD podcast host Dr. Adam Friedman as he discusses the current limitations of AKN consumer education with pediatric dermatology superstar Dr. Nanette Silverberg and her research investigating this gap. Will there be practical treatment pearls as well? Certainly more than a little off the top!
