Did you miss it? This summer, JDD released an article ahead of its November publication titled “Physician Opinions on Artificial Intelligence Chatbots In Dermatology: A National Online Cross-Sectional Survey of Dermatologists.”  This study explores U.S. dermatologists’ perspectives on the growing role of artificial intelligence chatbots (AIC) in their field. The national survey revealed that 76.5% of dermatologists believe AIC will likely be integrated into dermatology, particularly for administrative tasks, with 75.7% anticipating a reduced work burden. While 86% see potential benefits in patient education, significant concerns were raised about misinformation and incorrect diagnoses. The study underscores the need for ongoing research to assess the safety and effectiveness of AIC as it becomes more prevalent in dermatological practice.
