LEADERS OF DISTINCTION HONORED AT THE TENTH ANNUAL ORLANDO DERMATOLOGY AESTHETIC & CLINICAL CONFERENCE
January 20, 2013
In the inaugural year, the awards recognize dermatologists and organizations that have made significant contributions to the specialty of dermatology, as well as to the leaders and educational institutions in the field.
Nominations for the awards were submitted by hundreds of dermatology healthcare professionals, including members of the JDD Editorial Board.
As one of sixteen dermatologists receiving an award, Andrew Alexis, MD, MPH, Director of the Skin of Color Center at St. Luke's Roosevelt, was recognized for his dedication to providing expert advice on the health of skin of color patients.
Whitney Bowe, MD, was bestowed with the honor of the Stride Maker Award, which recognizes the rising generation of individuals who will be tomorrow's leaders in dermatologic study and clinical practice.
Among other award recipients was Susan Huang, MD, one of the Chief Residents at Harvard Combined Dermatology Residency Training Program for the Residency Program of Distinction Award, as well as John Zitelli, MD, the recipient of the Leader of Distinction award in the field of Mohs Surgery.
